Plans have been revealed today (Tuesday) for an exciting new dance music festival which will be held somewhere in Angus next summer.
A consortium of local companies today submitted initial plans to Angus Council for ‘Festival Of House’, a two day electronic dance music festival featuring a mix of top industry DJs, live music and Angus talent.
Festival of House is being organised by Jigsaw Events and Management Limited, Red Pepper Events and The Rhumba Club, with investment being provided by a local businessman. The two-day event is expected to have a capacity of 15,000 dance music fans, with 5000 campers.
A spokesperson for the organisers explained that the event is expected to provide a considerable and much-needed boost to the local economy, with local suppliers and businesses being used where possible.
He also stressed that the two-day Festival of House will be a massive addition to the vibrant dance music scene in this corner of Scotland, providing a large scale celebration of the very best of electronic music.
“House music has a massive following in Scotland and we plan to deliver something really special with this two day music festival,” continued the spokesperson, who added that, although plans are still at the early stages, three sites in the Angus area are currently under consideration.
“With its location in the heart of north east Scotland, Angus is an ideal area for a music festival,” he revealed.
“We’ve been working closely with Angus Council, partners and agencies on the initial plans for the festival for some time now, which has led us to identify three sites, where the screening will now begin.
“As we are at the early-stages of the site discussions with the relevant agencies, and with site-approval yet to be granted, we are unable to provide more in the way of information at this stage. However, we will be delighted to share more information once the final site has been selected and approved.”
