NEW PULL up banners which promote Carnoustie and the surrounding attractions are being displayed in the town.

They have been produced in conjunction with Angus Council’s economic development team and Carnoustie and district’s local community planning team which has worked with Carnoustie Development Group.

Currently they are being displayed in the vacant shop windows at the corner of the High Street and Queen Street.

However, they are portable and can be used at any location or event. The banners also complement a tourism brochure for the town that is being produced.

Councillor Brian Boyd said: “At the pre-election hustings the subject of talking up the town was discussed and it was agreed there has to be a fine balance as we all want more development in the town.

“With this is mind, any three of the councillors can now borrow these pull-up banners to promote the town.

“The old paper versions were getting very tatty and needing replaced so its great to see the council investing in these stands giving us far more flexibility.”

Any local groups or organisations wishing to use the banners should contact the local community planning team at the ACCESS office, 26 High Street, Carnoustie, telephone 01241 803562 or email cpofficer@angus.gov.uk.
