A CARNOUSTIE hotel recently put their new head chef through his paces catering for some BBC VIPs.
Liverpudlian Mike Pearson (33), pictured below, the new head chef at the Aboukir, catered to the high expectations of the BBC commentary team during the Ricoh Women’s Open in Carnoustie at the end of July.
Mike, who has previously been head chef at the Woodlands Hotel in Broughty Ferry, cooked all week for Hazel Irvine and her crew of commentators.
Aboukir Hotel owner Dave Scorgie said: “We had Hazel Irvine and six of the girls from the BBC commentary team staying with us the whole week.
“They booked out all the rooms, and ate with us every night in ‘The Gable’.
“I think they were very pleased with their stay and had a great time.”
