THERE was a good attendance at the monthly meeting of Monifieth Community Centre Steering Group in the Community Cabin on Thursday.
Ged Young, of Aim Design, City Quay, Dundee, the company which is carrying out a feasibility study for the planned resource centre on behalf of the group, gave a brief resume of the work to be carried out in the selection of the site location and services to be accommodated within the centre.
Members of the public participated in the discussions.
Margaret Copland, chairperson, publicly acknowledged and thanked Awards for All for the grant of £8,500, and Angus Council Community Funding for £5,000, towards the cost of the study.
The Monifieth Community Centre Steering Group fund-raising programme is continuing with several events planned for the near future. A craft fair will be held on Saturday, November 12, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the Community Cabin, and a bingo afternoon is planned in December.
All proceeds will go towards provision of the Monifieth Community Centre.
