A NEW drama club is starting up in Carnoustie tomorrow (Saturday) to give children in the area a chance to “express their creativity”.
Local lady Pauline Meikleham has worked within the area of children’s theatre and drama education for more than 20 years and has now set up the ‘Dramarama’ club in the town.
She said: “Children love drama as it provides a doorway into a world of discovery and imagination that computer games and TV just can’t provide.
“Drama gives children an excuse to play, but it’s meaningful play, a way for children to learn and grow and discover how to express their unique creativity.”
The club starts tomorrow (Saturday) in St Anne’s Church hall in Thomas Street with classes for seven to nine year olds at 10 a.m. And then sessions for 10 to 12 year olds at 11.30 a.m. Classes cost £3 per child.
There are four initial sessions planned on February 19, 26 and on March 5 and 12 to give children a taster of drama and to test interest in getting the club up and running in earnest after the Easter break.
