A NEW group, Carnoustie Dreamcatchers, specifically aimed at children with additional support needs and their parents or carers has been set up by Averil Hirsch, mum of Ayley and Chloe, and her friend Michelle Penman.

An open day was held in the Comrie Hall, Links Avenue, on Friday when Angus Provost Helen Oswald popped in to give support.

It was well attended and about a dozen families signed up.

Averil explained that the group will provide a focus for both parents and children and will be able to point parents in the direction of help. It meets in the Comrie Hall every Tuesday from 1 to 3.30 p.m. and Fridays, from 4 to 6 p.m.
