On Saturday, November 9, the No. 63 cafe, florist and gift shop in Edzell will be celebrating its very first birthday .
The owner, Sharon Greasley, stocks her premises with only fresh and local produce - with the items in her shop also being local.
I went along recently to test out the food!
To kick off lunch we both had the delicious Scotch broth soup.
Next, my companion had the un-smoked bacon, brie and cranberry panini whilst I had the mozarella, tomato and pesto panini - both absolutely delicious and served with salad and crisps on a dainty vintage plate.
To accompany the meal we had 100 percent Pink Lady apple juice and a Fentiman’s ginger beer.
The menu is full of variety and tasty offerings and there is even a number of items which can be ordered for smaller appetites.
Afterwards I enjoyed a DIY Wicked hot chocolate which you assemble yourself so I was in my element adding cream and marshmallows whilst my companion had a white, freshly-brewed coffee and a shortie.
The items available for purchase in the shop include ceramics, photographs, various vintage items, scarfs and cards - perfect if you are looking for something different and Sharon refers to it as “a showcase for local produce.”
If you are looking to try somewhere different then head down to No. 63 - you will not be disappointed.
The food and the atmosphere make for a winning combination.
Whether you are looking for lunch or a cup of coffee this lovely place ticks all of the boxes.
The cafe is open from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. from Monday to Saturday and 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. on Sunday.
As the name suggests, it is situated at 63 High Street, Edzell, Angus, DD9 7TA. For more information or to book a table telephone 01356 648285.
