Carnoustie Community Council is currently requesting nominations for this year’s Citizen and Junior Citizen of the Year Awards.
Nominations should be made for someone who you feel has displayed individual personal achievement and deserves the recognition of the Community.
Your nominee’s achievements could be cultural, civic, sporting or charity-related, in fact, anything that you think has been of good to the Town and community. Junior Citizen nominees should be under 18 years old.
Last year’s Carnoustie Citizen of the Year was Petra McMillan, local patron for Marie Curie.
Her tireless dedication to fundraising for free professional end of life care in our area has seen her raise over £100,000 towards that goal through various events such as an annual abseil, endurance cycles and much more.
The Junior Citizen of the Year for 2014 is named after Derek Orrock which was instituted in 1985 by the community council to honour his brave fight against cancer.
Last year’s winner was young Stefan Stevenson who has overcome his own battle with bone cancer and retina blastoma to live a full and inspiring life.
You can use the form printed here or pick one up at the Library, the Spar at the Cross or I and M MacDougall Newsagents in the High Street.
