An Arbroath publican has swapped pint pulling for pulling poses in a nearly nude charity calendar.
Jakki Smith rallied 14 friends from the local area as willing volunteers for the calendar, to raise vital funds for the Glitter Beach Foundation.
The stunning images were taken throughout Arbroath by Jakki herserlf, also owner of ‘Phoenix Pix’ photography business.
“For the pictures I am in, Jane Soutar, age 15, took. I am very proud of her, she has done a fantastic job,” Jakkie explained.
The local business community also got involved, sponsoring pages for £50 which will allow all funds from sales to go directly to the charity, of which Jakki is a trustee. The charity caters for sufferers of inflammatory bowel disease, bowel and uritary cancer as well as Stoma patients, with a particular aim in building a respite home following surgery. The foundation has also introduced a buddy system, patient forum and will donate money annually into Crohns Disease research.
Nerves built as the ladies prepared to strip off at iconic places in Arbroath. Jakki said: “For the very first shoot it was nerve wracking for all of us but they soon became very confident. For me, I was very nervous because I have my Stoma bag, but all the ladies made me feel very relaxed and I was fine!”
Calendars will be available from December 8 for £8 from Millgate Bar, Completelyou, Checkpoint Garage, Murray Taylor, Stuarts Fish or by contacting Jakki at the Millgate. Pre-orders are also accepted from the mentioned locations.
