More than £13,000 was raised at the weekend at the official launch of a group to help those affected by Alzheimer’s.

The Memories Golf Club Carnoustie was launched on Saturday during the Provost’s Ball, and over the course of the evening in excess of £13,000 was donated which will go to Alzheimer Scotland’s Angus Services.

Angus provost Helen Oswald said: “When members of the Rotary Club of Carnoustie first discussed having a Provost’s Ball, I was thrilled that they agreed to run it for the benefit of my Charity of the Year, Alzheimer Scotland – Angus Services. Their efforts raised a magnificent sum in excess of £13,000 which was way beyond my expectations, and which I know the Charity will put to really good use for those living with dementia in Angus. And on top of that, the Ball was an outstanding success, with everyone who attended enjoying a fantastic night.”
