The Angus Gold drama group has carried out a small tour of sheltered houses across the area with their very own pantomime - ‘Life Should be a Box of Chocolates’.

The group members, as the Fairy Queen admits, ‘are not in the first flush of youth’ and no-one in the troupe has ever been involved in amateur drama before Angus Gold.

But as one of the sheltered housing tenancy officers said: “They are an inspiration and they demonstrate that you can take on new skills and new fun at any age.”

The group comprises, from left - Betty Edwards, Olive Sturrock, Janet Maynard, Jessie Rennie, Mary Dow, Rea Beattie, Margaret Brown, Dot Brankin and Betty Irvine.
