The first annual general meeting of the South Angus Parent Carers for Adults with Learning Disabilities (SAPALD) was held on Thursday.
During the meeting the constitution was formally approved by all present and possible locations for the siting of respite and residential care facilities in Carnoustie were discussed. It was agreed that Angus Council would be advised of the possibilities and asked to investigate the potential.
Officials elected were as follows: Peter Burke, chair; Derek Marshal, vice-chair; Ian Cummins, treasurer; and Caroline Petrie, secretary. Committee members are - Maureen Crawford, Sandra Taylor, Walter Campbell and Kath Spence.
The next meeting is at 7 p.m., on Thursday, July 25, at the Panmure Centre, Kinloch Street. The group will be addressed by Angus Council’s Alan McKeown, director of communities; Margo Williamson, director of people; and Lorraine Young, acting head of social services.
