Shoppers passing Perts' window in the high Street were taken back to the sixties with the sight of John and Yoko in bed. Gregor McGillivary and Joanne Grant were recreating the iconic event to raise funds for Cancer Research.

ARBROATH and District Round Table held their first ever ‘John and Yoko–Thon’ at Pert’s House Furnisher’s High Street store on Saturday.

The event was the first part of the Table’s annual fund-raising programme for Arbroath Relay for Life supporting Cancer Research UK. Gregor was John and Jo was Yoko. A total of £429 was raised on the day.

For a pound you buy a minute and whoever gets the time when John pees the bed will get the £200 top prize.

The Tablers will also be in attendance at Arbroath Sea Fest on Saturday and Sunday, August 13 and 14, and at Relay for Life Day on Saturday, September 24.

The winners of the Peelay for Life (John and Yoko-Thon) will be announced at 7 p.m. on September 24 at Arbroath United Cricket Club.
