Public urged to help shape Angus Glens’ future

FLS is drawing up a management plan incorporating Glen Prosen, Glen Doll and Glen Isla.

Local people living and working in the Angus Glens are being invited to help shape long-term plans for land in the area that is managed by Forestry and Land Scotland (FLS).

FLS is drawing up a management plan incorporating Glen Prosen, Glen Doll and Glen Isla and is seeking ideas and opinions from stakeholders, local communities and visitors.

FLS Planning Forester, Sophie Cade, said: “One of the key elements we’ll be looking at is maximising the public and community benefits that could be delivered through this project and community and stakeholder input will be integral to achieving this

“I’d encourage everyone with an interest to come along to one of our drop-in sessions for chat.

“Gathering views will help us to make the most out of the exciting possibilities for creating community facilities and resources in the buildings, as well as setting out and achieving the best possible land management objectives.”

Anyone interested in taking part can do so online until November 12. In addition, there will be an information display (and opportunities to offer feedback) in the education room at the Glen Doll Ranger Centre from October 6 to November 12.

FLS staff will be available to talk through the consultation process, answer questions and discuss ideas and concerns at – Glen Doll Ranger Centre - Saturday, October 21 from 10am to 3pm and Kirriemuir Town Hall - Wednesday, October 25, from 12 noon to 7pm.

Views gathered in the initial sessions will inform FLS thinking as a draft Land Management Plan is worked up over the winter for formal consultation in Spring 2024.
