The staff, pupils and parents lined the pavement as the hearse passed to pay their last respects to the much-respected former head.

Mr Tulloch was appointed to the post when Borrowfield Primary School was opened in 1977 to was built to accommodate the children from the new housing in the Borrowfield area.

Lynda Law, who was assistant head teacher at the time, said that the gesture gave the opportunity to “pay their last respects to Bill and acknowledge how well thought of he was by all of those who were fortunate enough to be taught or led by him.

“He will be sadly missed by so many people.”

Tributes were also made online by friends and former pupils.
