Rotary support for emergency aid effort

Arbroath Rotarians agreed at their last emeting to fund two shelterboxes for Türkiye and Syria following the recent earthquakes.

The charity’s emergency response team is currently in Türkiye, developing partnerships and working out how they can get supplies to the affected regions.

ShelterBox is an international disaster relief charity established in 2000 in Helston, Cornwall, which that provides emergency shelter and other aid items to families around the world who have lost their homes to disaster or conflict.

It responds to natural disasters such as earthquakes, tropical cyclones, tsunamis, floods and volcanic eruptions. The charity also provides emergency aid to families who have been displaced by war or conflict,

ShelterBoxes typically contain such items as a family size tent, hard wearing tools and materials, solar lights, blankets, water filters/carriers and kitchen equipment, although the aid provided is tailored to the nature of each individual disaster and location and therefore is not always the same.
