CARNOUSTIE Gala Committee is holding a series of events to mark the autumn festivities.
The group will be holding their first ever competition to find the scariest carved pumpkin or turnip lantern.
Judging will take place in the Philip Hall at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, October 31, with prizes being awarded to the best pumpkin and turnip.
On Saturday, November 3, there will then be a coffee morning in the Philip Hall from 10 to 11.30 a.m.
There will be all the usual stalls and entry is £1.50 for an adult and £1 for a child with all money going towards Gala Committee funds.
Also taking place at the Philip Hall that morning from 10 a.m. will be the Gala Committee’s annual Guy Fawkes competition.
Judging will be at 10.30 a.m. with a prize for the best Guy. Please note, no toxic materials should be used as they will go on the bonfire at night.
At 6.30 p.m. sharp, the Torchlight Parade, organised by Carnoustie Gala Committee will depart from Woodlands Primary School. Torches are £3 and are available from The Fobel Shop, Park Avenue, or from Mary Bushnell on 01241 854499. All torches must be collected from the school no later than 6.15 p.m. and please note there will be none for sale at the school so make sure and buy a ticket first.
