Police provide parking advice for parents

Police in Angus are asking parents and guardians to be mindful of their actions when taking children to and from school.

There have been concerns regarding the manner of driving and parking outside Carlogie Primary School in Carnoustie, in particular, recently.

If you are driving children to school, please try to leave in plenty time so that you can get parked in a safe place for your children to walk into school.

Outside any school in Tayside there is often the temptation to quickly drop off children at the closest point to the school, especially in winter weather or if it is raining. Please plan your journeys and make sure that you take into account weather conditions.

The roads outside schools should be safe for children to cross, please think about where you are parking and if driving make sure you drive well within the speed limits and look out for pedestrians.

Police officers will continue to monitor the area and provide advice and enforcement where appropriate. Please support our communities in making the areas around our schools safer for all road users.
