DUNDEE City East MSP Shona Robison has welcomed a programme of improvements to pavements and footways in Broughty Ferry revealed by Dundee City Council.
Work is to commence in July on footways and pavements in Belsize Road, Deepdale Place, Ferndale Drive and the northern path in Albany Road between Fairfield Road and Grove Road.
Two streets in Barnhill - Invermark Terrace and Navarre Street - have also been adopted and are to be included in the new round of works.
Ms Robison said: “I am pleased that the council has set in motion work on these footways and pavements as part of their rolling programme of adoptions of improvements across the city.
“Residents will be looking forward to the work being completed. These pathways have been the subject of complaints over the years particularly when there is heavy rain or bad weather.”
Dundee City Council leader Ken Guild, who is a Broughty Ferry councillor, said: “Dundee City Council and the roads maintenance partnership will be ensuring that this work goes forward on a phased basis over the next few months.
“The adoption of footways all over the city go forward on a regular basis when funds allow and are allocated on strict criteria so that no area gets more than its fair share of improvements.“
