Dundee East MP Stewart Hosie has welcomed the close of nominations and confirmation that there will be three candidates for depute leadership of the SNP.

Mr Hosie’s comments follow his nomination acceptance and that of Keith Brown, Transport and Veterans Minister, and Angela Constance, Scottish Government Cabinet Secretary for Training, Youth and Women’s Employment

He said: “I am looking forward to the rest of the campaign. This has been a hugely energising process with party members fully engaged in it.

“The SNP has emerged from the referendum in great spirit and is leading the fight to keep the Unionist parties’ feet to the fire on their vow of more powers.

“The process is incredibly important and the hustings I have so far taken part in have been incredibly friendly and well-attended and I look forward to attending the dozens more that are already in my diary. Keith and Angela are fantastic and respected Ministers and I am very much looking forward to joining them at hustings right across the country where we will be putting forward our own views about the best way for our party to make progress.”
