Punter leaves almost £32,000 unclaimed

A MYSTERY William Hill customer has so far left a whopping jackpot win of almost £32,000 unclaimed.

The spectacular win is the result of a 50 pence stake on a football bet that consisted of nine selections resulting in draws.

The bet was placed in Arbroath on Friday on the next day’s matches. The punter backed an array of draws including the Hull v Rotherham clash in the Capital One Cup which went to extra-time and other games with teams leagues apart. Aldershot helped bump his winnings up by gaining an unlikely draw at Molineux against Wolves at odds of 3/1.

William Hill spokesman Mark Young said: “The close to 64,000/1 shot is a fantastic win and an amazing start to the season for someone but to leave it unclaimed since Saturday is rather unusual.

“We are not sure if this customer has gone on holiday or if he just doesn’t realise how lucky he has been but we will be more than happy to pay out when the penny drops.”

The lucky punter’s line was: Draw, Hull v Rotherham, 5/2, 1-1; draw Rochdale v Barnsley, 11/5, 2-2; draw Wolves v Aldershot, 3/1, 1-1; draw Cheltenham v MK Dons, 11/5, 1-1; draw Forest Green v Cambridge, 11/5, 1-1; draw Berwick v Elgin, 11/4, 0-0; draw Southport v Grimsby, 11/5, 1-1; draw Motherwell v St Johnstone, 11/5, 1-1; and draw Alloa v East Fife, 13/5, 1-1.

The stake was 50p and the winning return is £31,708.94.
