A CARNOUSTIE respite holiday cottage will be among charities aided by a celebrity fund-raiser this month.
Rebecca Cottage in Carnoustie provides discounted respite holiday accommodation for up to eight people supported by the Scottish Spina Bifida Association (SSBA).
Through local fund-raising efforts and support from the SSBA the cottage was recently renovated to accommodate wheelchairs and all kinds of adaptations designed to make life simpler for those suffering with spina bifida. For many of these carers this will be the only holiday they have this year.
Ladies who lunch will now have an opportunity to do so in style at the Piperdam resort in support of the ‘Gordon Ramsay F* is for Fund-raising Appeal’.
The luncheon will start with a champagne reception and will be followed by a sumptuous two-course meal. In the afternoon the ladies will be entertained with raffles, games, auctions, music and a special guest speaker.
Gordon Ramsay OBE, honorary patron of SSBA said: “By attending the SSBA’s ‘Ladies who give an F*! Lunch’, you will help raise vital funds and awareness for this amazing charity which supports families as soon as a baby is diagnosed with the condition and will continue to support both the individual and their family for life.
“For this life-long commitment of care and support the SSBA has to raise over £1 million annually. Sadly, the charity receives less than one per cent of its funding from the government, which means they have to raise nearly all their funds from public donations.”
Tickets for this spectacular ladies lunch are priced at £40 per person or £400 for a table of 10. Contact the SSBA fund-raising team on 01236 794508 or log onto www.ssba.org.uk
