CARNOUSTIE marked it’s recent ascension to Fairtrade status with a civic reception this afternoon (Monday).

Representatives from the community gathered in the gallery of Carnoustie Library to mark Carnoustie gaining Fairtrade status.

Angus Provost Helen Oswald and Carnoustie Fairtrade Group coordinator Irene Hoar welcomed the assembled guests and thanked them for their support.

The Provost said: “I have been privileged to be a member of the Carnoustie group and know the amount of sheer hard work put in to achieve Fairtrade status.

“So, congratulations to the Fairtrade group in Carnoustie and thanks to all the supporters. It wouldn’t have happened without you.”
