The premiere of Arbroath’s own film, ‘Blood Loss’ brought some Hollywood glamour to the town last week.

Local film company, IronStar Films hosted the premiere of their debut short film, ‘Blood Loss’ to a packed out Webster Memorial Theatre on March 27.

Starring former rugby player, international model and actor, Craig McGinlay, his co-star from Fife film ‘The Fairy Flag’, Dundonian Tom Ingram, Arbroath’s Lime Light Theatre Company founder Chris O’Mara and newcomer Demi Pearson; ‘Blood Loss’ is a horror/thriller that stylistically pays tribute to the films such as that of ‘SAW’ creator James Wan.

With its eerie nature where you are left questioning what you have seen, it wouldn’t be out of place in an episode of Chris Carter’s ‘The X Files’ or ‘Millennium’.

Having raised money to fund the film via an IndieGoGo campaign, as well as donations from family and friends, what started as a little film from four friends turned into so much more and will hopefully raise awareness in the local area and the talented individuals that live here.

Such has been the success that everyone involved cannot wait for the next project from IronStar Films, which writer/director Graeme Carr is working on already.

The script is based on conversations between Graeme and lead Craig McGinlay, both of whom are massive comic book/action film fans.

Craig said: “Looking forward to the next project with the guys. Their support has been amazing. Keen to get going soon!”

“We are amazed by the support shown by everyone involved from cast and crew to crowdfunders and also by the local community both in helping us make
the film and in supporting the showing,” added Graeme.
