Remember, remember, be generous!

Carnoustie folk are in for a fiery family treat tomorrow (Saturday) at the town’s annual Bonfire Night fun.

The fun kicks off with the Torchlight Parade which will leave from Woodlands Primary School at 6.30 p.m. sharp to make its way through the town to the bonfire.

There are tickets still available, priced £3.50, from The Fobel Shop, Park Avenue, or by calling Mary Bushnell on 01241 854499.

These will be exchanged for torches at 6.15 p.m. at the school.

Please note that no torches will be sold at the school, so no ticket means no torch.

Once again Carnoustie HM Coastguard are hosting the fireworks display at the Black Slab car park. The fireworks commence at 7 p.m. once the parade is finished.

The Coastguards have been running the fireworks display for more than 30 years and it is funded by donations from previous years, although last year’s donations were down on previous offerings.

Lindsay Martin, one of the organisers, said: “We are hoping that this year folk will be a bit more generous with their donations to help us to do it again another year.”
