Remembering the soldier sons of St Thomas

An Arbroath church remembered its fallen sons last week during a special service and the church is now keen to trace their surviving family.

Parishioners of St Thomas R.C. Church, led by senior pupils from Arbroath High School, gathered last Monday evening (November 11) to pay their respects to the fallen of the Great War and to remember particularly, ‘The Sons of St Thomas’.

These were the nine men from St Thomas parish who joined up and whose names are recorded on the memorial at the back of the church.

Those present heard and took part in a service of remembrance, reflection and prayers for peace.

The St Thomas Parish Pastoral Council would be very interested to hear from the surviving family of any of the men remembered on the St Thomas memorial in order to learn more about these sons of St Thomas who never returned from the field of battle.
