This Sunday marks the 95th anniversary of the end of the First World War and there will be Remembrance Day parades in our area.
In Arbroath, there will be an informal wreath laying ceremony at the war graves in the Western Cemetery on Sunday at 11 a.m. followed by the Remembrance Sunday Service at 2 p.m. at the High Common Cenotaph.
On Monday at 11 a.m. the Arbroath branch of the Royal British Legion Scotland will pay tribute to the fallen at the High Common Cenotaph.
In Carnoustie the youth groups will be to the fore with around 250 members of groups from cadets to Rainbows parading from the Royal British Legion Scotland branch on Dundee Street to the War Memorial.
There will then be a service at the War Memorial at 12.30 led by Dougal Edwards. If the weather is poor it will be in Carnoustie Church.
In Monifieth on Sunday there will be a church service in St Rule’s at 10.45 a.m. before moving to the Gerard Hall and proceeding to the War Memorial for 12.15 p.m. for a service beginning at 12.30 p.m.
