Details of a new housing development proposed at Muirdrum were unveiled today (Monday) at an information open day.
Muirdrum residents and interested parties were invited to Carnoustie Library to examine the proposal by Marina Development for 120 houses and five commercial units at land between the village and the A92.
Agent for the developers Alastair Fitchet of Broughty Ferry-based Alastair J. Fitchet Architects was on hand to answer questions regarding the proposal.
He said: “I think the scale of the development is what’s catching folk’s interest at the moment.
“The site could sustain much more but we decided to keep the numbers down to retain a semi-rural feel.”
The public consultation will continue tomorrow (Tuesday) and following this it is expected that a full planning application will be submitted.
Comments regarding the development can be submitted at the consultation or by email to firstname.lastname@example.org
It is thought the development will have an emphasis on green design and the developer hopes to incorporate environmentally friendly features.
These include solar powered street lights and a pond for rainwater.
