THREE members of the Arbroath branch of the RNLI were honoured at the organisation’s annual general meeting last month in Perth.

Mary Gerrard, who joined the Ladies’ Guild in 1964, received her Gold Medal, while Rhona Goodfellow was presented with a Silver Award for 26 years’ service.

Ian Ballantyne, chairman of Arbroath Lifeboat Management Group, collected the most prestigious, SOS Award of Station and Branch Combined Support on behalf of the Arbroath Guild and Arbroath Lifeboat Management Group.

All three were given a resounding cheer by everyone present, but especially by the 15 members of the Arbroath Ladies’ Guild who had travelled by bus to celebrate the success of the award winners.

Mrs Elizabeth Ferris, who has recently joined the Arbroath branch, was also warmly congratulated on receiving her Gold Badge for services to the Carnoustie branch of the RNLI.
