THE NE’ERDAY Dook has been a tradition in Carnoustie for a number of years and although organised by Carnoustie Rugby Club, the dook is open for anyone to join in.
This year’s event will begin at 1 p.m. on the beach directly opposite the Rugby Club and anyone wishing to take part can just come along to the Rugby Club prior to the start time.
Fancy dress is optional and changing facilities are available at the club.
Club president Chris Ayres will start proceedings with the traditional punt of a rugby ball into the sea, with the person winning the race to retrieve the ball, receiving the quaint Dook Trophy.
There is a separate trophy for women and men.
Contributions will be collected at the event with all money raised being donated to the Carnoustie First Responders.
All participants and supporters of the event are welcome to come back into the clubhouse afterwards to get warmed up with homemade soup and to partake in a refreshment.
Why not pop along and take the opportunity to catch up with old friends.
The Rugby Club Calendar, which would make a good ‘first foot’ gift, will also be on sale.
Tomorrow (Saturday), come along to the Rugby Club from 4 p.m. and enjoy mulled wine, glitter juice, mince pies and chocolate rolls either after your Christmas shopping or before your party night. The calendar will be available for that last minute Christmas gift.
