CARNOUSTIE Golf Links have announced their new links superintendent who will fill the role on John Philp’s retirement.
Links chairman Gordon Wilson revealed that Sandy Reid has been appointed successor Mr Philp following an interview process that saw many strong candidates apply for the role.
Sandy (35), who is married to Catherine and has a one-year-old daughter called Harriet, hails from Blair Atholl.
After graduating from Elmwood College in Fife he worked at Letham Grange for three years before making the move to Carnoustie.
He has spent the last seven years as Championship Course head greenkeeper.
Also a keen golfer and curler, last year Sandy’s curling team were beaten finalist in the Scottish Championships
Sandy said: “It is an honour to be following on from John and I will do my best to ensure that the high standards set at Carnoustie continue.
“I’m looking forward to working with a fantastic team and meeting all future challenges”.
