Dundee Rep Ensemble presents the Scottish premier of Victoria, by David Greig, from September 4 to 21.

A trilogy in one play, Victoria is set in 1936, 1976 and 1996 and tells the story of three generations of rich and poor in the Scottish highlands.

Grasping the huge theme of the split in the country’s culture between repression and openness, it revolves around three different Victorias.

For 1936, Victoria, a minister’s daughter, stands under a tree, lights a cigarette and dreams of emigration.

1976 - a helicopter crashes on a hill and Victoria, a young American geologist, emerges from the wreckage - alive.

1996 - Victoria, daughter of a local tycoon, makes a bonfire of money and watches it burn.

Never before performed on a Scottish stage, Victoria marks the directorial debut of Philip Howard, joint artistic director of Dundee Rep, and features a cast of 12. Tickets from 01382 223530 or
