The search is on to find the country’s unsung sporting heroes and Angus people are being urged to nominate.
The 2013 sportscotland coaching, officiating, and volunteering awards provide the opportunity to thank coaches, officials, and volunteers for their dedication and recognise their achievements.
Louise Martin CBE, chair of sportscotland, said: “We recognise that coaches, officials, and volunteers in sport are invaluable, and without their dedication week-in week-out, Scottish sport would struggle to exist.
“The majority of these dedicated individuals give up their own free time to help develop and support the next generation of sporting talent.”
Awards will be presented in nine categories – Young Coach, Community Coach, Development Coach, Performance Coach, Young Person’s Coach, Disability Coach, Technical Official, Young Volunteer, and Volunteer – to celebrate the achievements across the full spectrum of Scottish sport.
For more information on any of the award categories, or to download an entry form, go to www.sportscotland.org.uk/COVawards.
The closing date for nominations is October 11, and the winners will be announced later in the year.
