Shop marks 25th anniversary

A CARNOUSTIE charity shop is set to celebrate its 25th anniversary tomorrow (Saturday) with a brand new look.

The Sue Ryder store on the High Street first opened in 1987 and to mark the occasion, the shop has been refurbished to offer customers a better shopping experience.

Shoppers will be able to check out the new store and its grand re-opening tomorrow at 10 a.m.

Staff and volunteers have been busy stocking the shelves and the shop will be officially opened by Olympic torch bearer Ron McIntosh.

Ron said: ”I am delighted to have been invited to officially re-open the Sue Ryder’s charity shop in Carnoustie.

“It has a great range of stock and will provide an excellent shopping experience for local people, as well as employment and volunteering opportunities.”

While shop manager, Heather Wallace added: “The proceeds go to help Sue Ryder provide end of life and long-term care to people living with complex care and support needs.”
