Local Angus projects receive a total of £192000 in grant funding

Projects helping thousands of young Scots to explore their creative talents are sharing in £880,817 of Young Start funding.

Young Start, delivered by The National Lottery Community Fund, awards dormant bank account funding to projects that help young people reach their full potential.

The National Lottery Community Fund, Scotland Chair, Kate Still, said: “We’re thrilled to have been able to fund such innovative and inspiring groups through Young Start once again. The skills, confidence, and knowledge the thousands of young people will gain through taking part in these projects will be invaluable in building brighter futures.

The two local projects are: The Pitstop Project who’ve been awarded £93,000. This group will use the funding to run an employability project for young people, with sessions and workshops to build confidence and skills in their career of interest.

DEAP Limited received £99,679 This group will use the funding to create a space for young people to take part in activities and sessions to help improve their wellbeing, resilience and confidence. The activities will be decided on by the young people.
