Repairs are to be carried out on the surface of the car park at Carnoustie Rail Station after local MSP Graeme Dey raised concerns over its condition with Network Rail.
The car park, which lies adjacent to the northbound platform, has been badly potholed for some considerable time, causing concern to commuters.
However, following representations from the Angus South member, Network Rail have announced that the issue will be addressed in the course of the next few weeks.
Speaking to the Gazette, Mr Dey revealed: “The initial response from Network Rail indicated they were aware of a problem and that it would be addressed at some future date.
“However, I pressed them to deal with it sooner rather than later, as the potholes really are quite bad and I am delighted that they have now advised that the work is likely to be carried out at some stage during the first three weeks of September.”
