Story inspires school generosity

THE SALVATION Army was presented with a cheque for £250 thanks to the children of Murroes Church Sunday School.

Before Christmas, the Reverend Mike Mair told a story about a little girl, who at the festive season would place a baby Jesus in her crib and lay down gifts beside him before sending the presents off to charity after Christmas.

The children of the Sunday School were so inspired by the story that they set up their own crib in the church hall so church members could donate gifts to those less fortunate.

As the gift tally increased, the children also managed to raise £250, which they donated to the Salvation Army at a recent presentation..
