Students make no bones about charity

A walk can prove beneficial for dogs in more ways than one as a group of D&A College students have shown. A total of 10 students from the supported education department on the Arbroath Campus raised £761 for Guide Dogs Scotland having taken part in sponsored walk around Monikie Park. The group showed dogged determination in a bid to include a puppy in their enterprise and created a cheque on a cartoon-style bone to present to the charity. Trainee guide dog, Kristy, persuaded puppy walker June Ainsworth to visit the college and pick up the cheque.

“The students chose to support Guide Dogs Scotland after taking a vote on a list of charities,” explained lecturer Karen Lindsay.
