The sweet toothed people of Carnoustie have helped bank over £700 for Alzheimer Scotland through the fund-raising efforts of the local TSB branch.

Sales of fudge and tablet throughout 2014 amassed the impressive total of £739.20 which was donated recently to Pat Brodlie from the well-deserving charity.

TSB Partners made the delicious treats to sell from the branch to customers which aimed to raise as much as possible for Alzheimer Scotland.

Ruth Forbes, customer assistant at TSB Carnoustie, said: “We have worked hard putting in a lot of time and dedication to make this fundraising a success.

“We have really enjoyed our fundraising activities and want to thank all of our customers who bought our fudge and tablet.

“It is fantastic to know the difference that our efforts will have made.”

Pat Brodlie from Alzheimer Scotland said: “We are hugely grateful to TSB colleagues.

“The money they are raising is helping us to deliver support services for people with dementia, their carers, family and friends.

“In the Carnoustie area, Angus Service currently provides a weekly drop-in at Carnoustie Panbride Church Hall every Friday morning, to which everyone is welcome.”

Lloyds TSB has a culture of promoting fund raising within local communities and nominates a charity each year that will be supported by the local branches.

The TSB branch has also recently donated money to local community projects such as the Carnoustie and District Pipe Band, who received a £100 cheque.
