Thousands at Broughty Gala

Have your say

Once again Broughty Gala Week Fete was a tremendous success, with over 3000 people flocking to the Castle Green for the fun and frolics.

The uncertain weather had little effect on the day which is put on for the town by the Broughty Ferry Traders Association (BFTA).

Chair of the BFTA, Steve James, said: “It’s been another fantastic day for our community. It’s all about families and I’m pleased to say that, once again, we can report that all the babies, mums, dads, grannies and grandpas have had a grand day out. My thanks goes to all the volunteers who have spent months organising the event and making the crowds so welcome on the day. Of course – a lot of the credit goes to Gerry Stewart of The Hotel Broughty Ferry who Chairs the Gala Week Committee – it simply couldn’t happen without her.

“The fun doesn’t stop here – there’s a whole week of fun to be had in the Ferry. There’s never a dull moment at Gala Week – I hope that applies to the weather too!”
