A CARNOUSTIE shop has trebled their own previous fund-raising efforts for a local cause.
Local retailer Colin Landsburgh and his SPAR stores have helped their community once again by raising £3,000 for the charity ‘Help Ayley and Chloe walk’.
The cheque was presented to the delighted family of the twins on Tuesday evening in the Carnoustie High Street branch of SPAR.
Since the charity’s inception, Colin and his team have been heavily involved and donated £1,000 in March raised from the 2p carrier bag charge scheme.
The £3,000 donated this time was raised from a variety of sources. £1,800 came from raffles, auctions and donation boxes on the counter, £600 from carrier bag sales and the remaining £600 was donated from the store itself.
Colin said: “Our customers loved the idea of helping their local community and really got behind this fund-raising drive for Ayley and Chloe.
“As a community store, we are committed to helping local charities and we thank all our fantastic customers and suppliers for their continued support.
