This summer Arbroath Town Mission will be running a free Commonwealth Games themed children’s holiday club during the second week of the school holidays.
The Mission Kids Holiday Club will run from Monday, July 7, to Friday, July 11 between 10 a.m. and 12.15 p.m. and will also include a Friday event at 6.30 p.m. for kids to bring their parents.
The club is for those finishing Primary 1 up to those finishing Primary 7 and will involve lots of fun activities including games, crafts, songs and drama as well as teaching children bible stories in fun and engaging ways, and giving the opportunity to make new friends.
There are limited spaces so pre-registration is encouraged so you don’t miss out.
Mission Pastor Dave Webster said: “We are really looking forward to this and hope that lots of families are able to take up the opportunity of this club. Like our hugely popular fun day the club is being run for free and already has involved lots of planning to make it as fun as possible. We have several people taking time off work to help and also have a team of volunteers coming down from our former church in Westhill to be part of the week.”
Dave also explained: “We are using resources from Scripture Union Scotland called ‘Fit for a King’ which helps us tie in with the Glasgow 2014 Games which start later in July and I think it will be a very exciting time, I believe some other churches in Arbroath are also planning to make use of this resource later in the summer.”
Registration forms can be picked up from the Mission Office just off Grant Road (Mon-Fri 9 a.m. - 1 p.m.) and also returned there.
For any remaining spaces there will be a registration day on Saturday, July 5 from 10 a.m. - 12 p.m. in the Mission Sports Hall.
