Angus South MSP Graeme Dey has welcomed changes to the ScotRail timetable which will see additional trains stopping in Carnoustie.
However, he has contacted ScotRail managing director Steve Montgomery highlighting the fact that Monifieth has once again been overlooked when it comes to rail access.
The new timetable, which comes into effect from Sunday, December 9, will see Carnoustie receive four more weekday calls.
“I am pleased that my constituents in the Carnoustie and Arbroath areas are going to be enjoying greater access to rail.
“As we have come to expect, however, the aspirations of Monifieth folk in this regard have been ignored.
“I have contacted ScotRail’s managing director expressing my disappointment that Monifieth has again been overlooked and in due course will be pursuing this whole issue once more with Transport Scotland.”
