Travellers pitch up at Gayfield

A group of travellers made camp this week at Arbroath seafront.

The encampment sprang up behind Gayfield on Thursday. It is understood that local authorities and Police Scotland work in partnership in these instances.

A spokesperson for Angus Council said: “We are aware of this illegal encampment and will monitor it in line with our policies and procedures.”

Our picture shows the scope of the illegal encampment and below a picture of fir trees dumped at the site sent in by a reader.

It is believed these may have been left by the travellers.
