Tug boat may return home after repairs

The steam tug Kerne, built in Montrose in 1913, is to undergo repairs, and while she is semi-dismantled an intriguing offer has been made by its keepers.

Kerne is currently on the west coast of England, and is unlikely ever to return to the port of her birth, but it has been suggested by the Kerne Preservation Society that items such as wheel, telegraph, bell, etc., could be loaned to Montrose Museum and put on display there.
