A party of 15 visitors from Maule, France, have been visiting their twin town, Carnoustie, this week.

Arriving at Edinburgh early last Friday morning, the visitors stopped off to visit the shops and tourist sites in the city before travelling on to Carnoustie, where they met up with their old friends and hosts.

Over a weekend of sunshine, visits were made to many of the local towns, castles and gardens. All the visitors and hosts attended a welcome soiree in the Caledonia Golf Club, which also marked the end of Tartan Week with music supplied by Out’ta the Blue.

On Monday, the group, with some local twinning members, travelled to Oban for a short stay before travelling on to Mull and Iona. Returning to Carnoustie, midweek the visitors took time to visit Carnoustie Library, where the Easthaven 800 group are holding their exhibition.

Among the visitors were some members of the Photo Club of Maule, who returned photographs which had been displayed in their recent ‘Salon’ of photography in Maule but which had been contributed by members of Carnoustie Photo Group. A guided tour of Carnoustie with Barry Mill featuring, was made before the group departed for Maule on Friday.
