ANGUS Council will be carrying out essential maintenance and resurfacing on the A933 Arbroath to Brechin road at its junctions with B965 Friockheim and A932 Forfar in a few weeks’ time.
The road will be closed while the work is underway, from 7 a.m. on Saturday 15 September to 5 p.m. on Sunday 16 September and from 7 a.m. on Saturday, September 22 until 5 p.m. on Sunday, September 23.
During this period the access road into Friockheim will be closed and also the junction of the A932 Forfar Road. Access to Friockheim will be via the B965 from the East end of the village only.
Traffic travelling between Arbroath and Friockheim will be diverted via Colliston – Letham Grange – Chapleton - B965 – Friockheim.
Traffic travelling between Arbroath and Brechin will be diverted via Colliston – Letham Grange – Chapleton - B965 – Inverkeilor A92 – Rossie A934 – Kinnell Crossroads.
Traffic travelling between Arbroath and Forfar will be diverted via the C51 Arbroath to Letham Road from Paradise to Forfar via Cononsyth crossroads.
Traffic travelling between Forfar and Friockheim will be diverted via C44 Balgavies – B9113 – A934 – A92 – B965 - Friockheim.
Diversion signs will be in place.
Buses travelling via Friockheim will continue to use the bus stance at the east end of the village but there may be disruption to the timetable.
