Remarkable five-year-old Ollie has joined the call for nominations for the National children’s charity WellChild’s 2016 Awards.
The prestigious annual event celebrates the inspirational qualities of the UK’s seriously ill children and young people and the dedication of the people who go that extra mile to make a real difference to their lives.
Last year’s event saw Ollie Holt of Carnoustie attending the star-studded Awards ceremony at the Hilton, Park Lane, London, where he had the chance to chat with many of the invited celebrities and supporters of WellChild including Royal Patron, Prince Harry. Five–year-old Ollie was picked from hundreds of nominations from across the UK to win the Inspirational Child category in these Awards.
WellChild is calling on people to put forward their 2016 nominations in all categories for the Awards, an event which can make a real impact on the morale of the winners, their families and others who provide care and support.
Ollie suffered a massive seizure aged just two and since then has battled seizures and brain surgery with a constant smile. Despite extreme fatigue and pain, Ollie has amazed family, friends and medical professionals with his cheerfulness. His mum, Emma, said: “Ollie had such a fantastic evening at the WellChild Awards in London. It would be terrific for another child or a medical professional from the area to be a winner.”
