What’s happening at local libraries

Following on from the success of Scottish crime author Gillian Galbraith’s visit for World Book Night in April, local ibraries are pleased to announce more upcoming author visits.

Carnoustie Library will be holding a ‘Reading Group Day’ on Saturday, June 1, from 2 to 3.30 p.m.

The special guest author this year is Ken McClure who specialises in writing medical thrillers and his books are very popular in Angus.

Another crime writers’ event will also take place in Arbroath Library on Friday, June 7, from 7 p.m.

Prestigious Scottish female crime writers Lin Anderson, Carol Ramsay and Aline Templeton will be visiting for the evening.

Tickets are free and can be reserved at any Angus library so please get in touch to ensure you reserve one.

Meanwhile junior members will be well aware that the summer holidays are fast approaching and this can mean only one thing, it’s time for the Summer Reading Challenge!

The challenge this year is entitled ‘Creepy House’ – a fantastic theme you’ll agree.

All children have to do is read six books in six weeks and have fun with library activities and rewards along the way.

More details will be available soon, but you can pre-register your child from Monday, June 17, with the challenge itself launching on July 1.
