What’s happening at Monifieth Library?

Do you have overdue books or outstanding fines?

Then take advantage of Angus Libraries’ fines amnesty and have your overdue charges waived in exchange for a donation of food for the Angus Foodbank.

This initiative runs until Saturday, March 8. Don’t let fines get between you and the library!

There are changes afoot in Monifieth Library as staff work hard to create a lovely seating area to permit customers to read the newspapers and sip their coffee in comfort.

Also located in this area will be a new community diary.

If you are planning to hold a coffee morning or similar and want to make sure you won’t clash with other events in Monifieth, pop in and use the community diary to ensure your chosen date is clear.

It is also another useful place to advertise your event!

This year’s World Book Day will take place on Thursday, March 6, and there will be separate prize draws for adult and junior customers. Adults visiting the library on World Book Day itself will be in with a chance to win a signed Christopher Brookmyre book while junior customers visiting throughout the week will be able to guess how many books are in the junior library.

Lastly, there are plenty of activities for junior customers throughout the Easter Holidays in April. You’ll find more information in our next library column.
